In
the summer of 2011, a few months after I moved into my new condo in Montreal, my
real estate agent came over for lunch and brought me a jar of delicious peach
chutney. This is her recipe.
1 cup
cider vinegar
1¼
cups packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon
molasses
1 teaspoon
salt
1 teaspoon
cinnamon
1 teaspoon
cumin
½ teaspoon
coriander
¼ cup
minced crystallized ginger
1
chopped onion
1 pound
Granny Smith apples (peeled & chopped)
½ pound
dried apricots (chopped)
1 pound
peaches (weighed after peaches are peeled and chopped)
1 cup
raisins
½ teaspoon
cloves
2 teaspoon
ginger
½ teaspoon
allspice
2
garlic cloves (crushed)
1 cup
water
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Bring to a boil.
- Simmer about 45 minutes or until thick.
- Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
